Decisive Move · Free self-assessment

What's actually running
your decisions?

A 3-minute check-in to see how much of your decision-making is coming from the inside — and how much is being shaped by outside forces you may not have named yet.

How it works: Two sets of statements — inside-driven and outside-driven. Check every statement that feels true for you right now, even if it's uncomfortable to admit.

When you're done, you'll get a score breakdown, a read of your pattern, and one question to sit with before you see your results. The question is the most important part.

Part 1 — Inside-driven

Check the statements that feel genuinely true for you right now — not aspirationally, but actually.

I choose the kind of work and contribution that gives me energy, meaning, and a sense that I am creating change.
I design my work around how I naturally function — my energy, focus, strengths, and preferred rhythm — rather than forcing myself into a standard model.
I protect my health and capacity by saying no, asking for help, or changing an arrangement that is no longer sustainable.
I use experiments and manageable steps to learn what fits me rather than demanding certainty before I begin.
I recognise that I have outgrown old dreams, environments, and identities, and I allow myself to choose again.
I protect the value of my time and work, even if someone is disappointed or says no.
I let my values and ambitions evolve instead of remaining loyal to an outdated version of myself.
I choose environments where I can be honest, contribute meaningfully, and show up as myself.
I make room for rest, creativity, and relationships without requiring them to produce an outcome.
I define success through the life I want to experience: meaningful work, health, connection, freedom, and enough space to be myself.
Part 2 — Outside-driven

Check the ones that feel honest about how you’ve actually been operating lately — not how you want to operate.

These statements come directly from conversations with my clients — senior leaders, directors, VPs, and founders. Read them slowly.

I feel I must be perfect because I have learned that mistakes will make people question my competence or belonging.
Director, tech scale-up
I believe I must be fully prepared, completely certain, or “200% on board” before I am allowed to act.
VP of Product, SaaS company
I silence or edit myself because I expect people to find me too much, annoying, unqualified, controversial, or difficult.
Founder, creative consultancy
I hide the work I genuinely want to do and present it as something more respectable, practical, or profitable so others will accept it.
Senior consultant, strategy firm
I force myself into society’s definition of an ambitious, productive, successful person — even when that identity is not the life I want.
CMO, global tech company
I treat age, career gaps, or other people’s progress as evidence that I am running out of time.
Director of Engineering, scale-up
I pursue another qualification or certificate because I think I need more proof before I can trust my existing experience.
Senior leader, consulting firm
I find it easier to keep promises to other people than to honour promises I make to myself.
VP of Sales, tech company
I overdeliver, undercharge, or take on too much because I need to prove that I am worthy.
Founder, service business
I compare myself with successful people and use their progress as evidence that I’m behind or not good enough.
Head of Product, VC-backed startup
